Verdigrass is the 2024 OMMA Youth In Bluegrass Band Competition champion. Made up of five members from three different states, founding members Elizabeth Williamson on upright bass and her sister Grace Williamson on guitar hail from Oklahoma, and are joined by Stephen Russell on fiddle also from Oklahoma, Gordon Parker on mandolin from Arkansas, and filling in for original member, John Russell on banjo, is Sam Smith from Texas. This band, influenced by Tony Rice, Blue Highway, Flatt Lonesome, Richard Bennett, Mountain Faith, and many others, loves to blend traditional bluegrass and new grass together with their smooth harmonies and stellar musicianship!
