Throwdown Thursday is a relatively new bluegrass band from central Kentucky born from the Thursday
night living room jam sessions during the early days of COVID. This group of friends quickly realized there was
something very special from the very first jam. The band features an all-star lineup of musicians who have
toured the bluegrass circuit with the likes of JD Crowe & The New South, American Drive, Kenny & Amanda
Smith, Blue Moon Rising, Grasstowne, David Parmley & Continental Divide, & Newtown. The band features
Justin Jenkins on banjo, Evan Maynard on mandolin/vocals, Kati Penn Jenkins on fiddle/vocals, Ronald Mosley
on guitar/vocals, and Kyle Perkins on bass. Throwdown Thursday lists their musical influences as classic 90’s
bluegrass bands such as: AKUS, Lonesome River Band, IIIrd Tyme Out, JD Crowe & The New South, and Blue
Highway just to name a few.
