He is most influenced by 70’s J.D Crowe and The New South\, Tony Rice\, and Sam Bush. \nAs a recording artist\, Mike has released 3 bluegrass albums\, the second of which\, “Small Town” debuted on Billboard at # 2.   \nHis latest project\, “Fathers & Sons” has enjoyed three #1 hit singles\, with the album itself spending 13 months on the Bluegrass Unlimited Top 15 Albums chart. The new track\, “Uncommon Man” is beginning its climb onto airplay charts this summer! \nMike says:  \n“We bring a high energy show full of Chart-Topping bluegrass and fiddle tunes.  Tim White\, from the Song Of The Mountains television show calls us “Original Music with a Traditional Flavor”   \n “As a nationally recognized teacher of Bluegrass music\, I enjoy leading workshops that leave everyone happy with their improved playing.  I also head the IBMA Songwriters Mentorship Program and always enjoy making songwriting workshops fun and inspirational for folks.” \n“The band loves to jam and make friends\, wherever we go!” \nMike has been a player all of his days\, starting Suzuki violin lessons at the age of four. SUMMARY:Tim O'Brien
DESCRIPTION:Born in Wheeling\, West Virginia in 1954\, Grammy winning singer songwriter and multi- instrumentalist Tim O’Brien grew up singing in church and in school. After seeing Doc Watson on TV\, he became a lifelong devotee of old time and bluegrass music. Tim started touring nationally in 1978 with Colorado bluegrass band Hot Rize. His songs “Walk the Way the Wind Blows” and “Untold Stories” were bluegrass hits for Hot Rize\, and country hits for Kathy Mattea. Soon more artists like Nickel Creek\, Garth Brooks\, and The Dixie Chicks covered his songs. Over the years\, Tim has collaborated with his sister Mollie O’Brien\, songwriter Darrell Scott\, and noted old-time musician Dirk Powell\, as well as with Steve Earle\, Mark Knopfler\, Dan Auerbach and Sturgill Simpson. \nLiving in Nashville since 1996\, O’Brien’s skills on guitar\, mandolin\, fiddle\, and banjo make him an in-demand session player. A voracious reader who loves to cook\, he tours throughout the US and abroad\, most often with his wife Jan Fabricius on mandolin and vocals. The International Bluegrass Music Association awarded him song of the year in 2006 and named him best male vocalist in 1993 and 2006.  He was inducted into the West Virginia Music Hall of Fame in 2013 and into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame in 2022. \nO’Brien’s 2023 release “Cup of Sugar” featured songs about an angry bear\, a millionaire dog\, his neighbor\, and Walter Cronkite. Other notable recordings include the bluegrass Dylan covers of “Red on Blonde”\, the Celtic-Appalachian fusion of “The Crossing”\, and the Grammy winning folk of “Fiddler’s Green”. His duet recording “Real Time” with Darrell Scott is a cult favorite\, and he won a bluegrass Grammy as part of “The Earls of Leicester”. A set of 15 new originals co-written with Jan Fabricius and Tom Paxton\, “Paper Flowers” will be released in April. \n\nArtist Website

DESCRIPTION:Richard is a respected guitarist\, vocalist\, and songwriter who began his musical journey at the young age of seven. By age 15\, the East Tennessee native was touring with former Flatt & Scruggs fiddle player Benny Sims.  Gigs at Dollywood followed\, with his big break coming in the 1990’s as he joined the legendary J.D. DESCRIPTION:The Gravel Yard formed modestly in an actual gravel lot deep in the Ozark Mountains of Stone County\, Arkansas; fueled by moonlit jam sessions it was quickly evident that this group’s chemistry was something more. Once a completely informal entity The Gravel Yard made their way onto the local bluegrass music scene wherein they began to amass a steady following and began to play to larger and larger venues. Their sound can best be described as an eclectic amalgamation of hard driving traditional bluegrass and progressive musicality – juxtaposed with a soulful Country and Americana flavor.With the addition of fellow Arkansan Christopher Denny (formerly of Partisan Records) on lead vocals the band has broadened their influence and dialed in on a sound that harkens back to the days of yore. Denny’s unique vocal contributions with his otherworldly old-time natural vibrato brings strength to an already “stout as Kentucky Bourbon” crew of ass-kicking grassers – gifting to the bluegrass world a musical footprint unlike any other.Join us and for a brief moment in time you too can be transported back to the days of a country church singin’ – feel the history of American Roots Music – when the instruments were handmade and the front porch was a stage; deep into the mountains and down a dirt road and when you arrive you can be part of The Gravel Yard.

SUMMARY:Shawn Lane & Richard Bennett
DESCRIPTION:Shawn is a three-time GRAMMY nominee and 28-time IBMA Award winner with Blue Highway.   Heralded as a vocalist and instrumentalist\, Lane is explosive on fiddle\, mandolin\, and guitar.  Shawn is also a respected songwriter\, and was nominated as 2015 IBMA Songwriter of the Year\, penning such iconic songs as The Game\, Sycamore Hollow\, and Tears Fell on Missouri.  Lane played in the bands of both Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunderand Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver prior to becoming a founding member of Blue Highway in 1994. \nRichard is a respected guitarist\, vocalist\, and songwriter who began his musical journey at the young age of seven. By age 15\, the East Tennessee native was touring with former Flatt & Scruggs fiddle player Benny Sims.  Gigs at Dollywood followed\, with his big break coming in the 1990’s as he joined the legendary J.D. Crowe & The New South.  Bennett appeared on Crowe’s 1995 album “Flashback\,” which was nominated for two GRAMMY Awards.  He went on to tour with greats like Bobby Osbourne\, Mike Auldridge\, and Jimmy Gaudreau.  Richard also released several solo and trio albums on Lonesome Day and Pinecastle Records.  His projects have garnered radio airplay across the musical genres of Bluegrass\, Folk and Americana. \nShawn and Richard started writing songs together two years ago. A few unique songs seemed to have a natural duo feel\, so the two decided to spread their musical wings with a duo project showcasing their songwriting\, instrumentals\, and vocal chops.  Their sound that has slightly more folk and jam feel than the music Shawn and Richard release with their respective primary bands.  Richard currently helps drive the traditional yet fresh sound of the J.D. Crowe & the New South reunion band\, Flashback\, while Shawn shines in the legendary multi-award winning supergroup he co-founded\, Blue Highway.

That’s where it all began: mothers\, fathers\, grandparents\, aunts\, uncles\, and cousins\, all huddled together\, picking and singing on a porch in the twilight. That’s why when The French Family launch into the bittersweet ache of a classic or the startling tenderness of one of their self-penned original songs\, the hairs on country music loving necks stand up\, and we instinctively––sometimes tearfully––recognize this father\, mother\, and son as the real thing. Touring over the last almost 20 years as Camille and Stuie\, the husband-and-wife duo became beloved in Australia. Stuie is a monster player with chops that sublimely meld the virtuosity and instinct of jazz with the clear tone and restraint of American hillbilly roots music. Camille holds a once-in-a-generation voice: somehow both crisply expressive and immeasurably rich and smooth\, she can sit back to soothe in a pocket before jumping out to thrill. Now based in Nashville and with the addition of middle son Sonny on stage\, The French Family is acclimating to life stateside––deep roots in tow. “I love being able to share our family music with people\,” says Camille. “I think people crave it.
