SUMMARY:Toby's House
DESCRIPTION:Toby’s House is made up of Mike Zikovich and GRAMMY winner Jeff Taylor\, two very good friends who have a great love for the accordion\, across many musical styles and geographical borders. They recently lost founding member and friend Jeff Lisenby\, but the group continues because they know that Jeff would want the music to play on! And now\, with the addition of Accordion player and Keyboardist Joey Schmidt\, the group continues to entertain like never before. Joey cut his accordion chops’ as a regular on the Lawrence Welk show and currently can be found playing locally with The Music City Playboys or on tour with country music star Alan Jackson. \nThey have all been bandleaders from Broadway in NYC to the Ryman in Nashville. Their live and recording credits run an amazing musical gamut; Kenny Rogers\, Pavarotti\, Dolly Parton\, Amy Grant\, The Chieftains\, Elvis Costello\, Charlie McCoy\, Waylon Jennings\, Frank Yankovic\, Mel Tormé\, Blake Shelton\, Ricky Skaggs\, David Phelps\, Alison Krauss\, Paul Simon\, Harry Connick Jr.\, Kenny Chesney\, Steven Tyler\, Keb Mo\, Miranda Lambert\, Cyndi Lauper\, The Time Jumpers and The Riders in The Sky.

SUMMARY:The Amanda Cook Band
DESCRIPTION:Amanda Cook\, now entering her tenth year as the leader of the Amanda Cook Band\, has left an indelible mark on the bluegrass scene. \nOriginally from Jay\, Florida\, Cooks passion for bluegrass was ignited by her father\, with whom she played in a band during the mid-2000s. With her down-to-earth style\, profound connection with her audience\, and distinctive vocal range\, she quickly achieved popularity. Fueling a fire to record and tour professionally\, Cook made the move to the Mountains of Virginia\, to not only sign a long term 5 album contract with record label Mountain Fever Records\, but also to work there as an engineer. \nThe band’s fourth studio album\, “Changes” debuted at the number one spot of the Billboard Bluegrass Album chart in October 2022\, coinciding with the band’s continued presence at festivals and top venues nationwide. \nIn 2022\, Amanda was promoted to Chief Operations Officer of Mountain Fever Records where she continues to oversee operations of the label. In 2024\, Cook was chosen as one of 25 distinct members of the bluegrass community to serve in the International Bluegrass Music Association’s annual Bluegrass Leadership program. \nA 5th album from the band is slated to release Fall of 2024\, and the first 2 releases have garnered top ranking play on Sirius XM and have been spotted on the Bluegrass Today charts as well. \n\nArtist Website

SUMMARY:The Burnett Sisters
DESCRIPTION:Bluegrass\, old-time\, and folk music lovers alike can’t get enough of The Burnett Sisters Band\, as siblings Anissa\, Sophia\, and Anneli and band mates Justin Alexander from Sweetwater\, TN and Geary Allen from London\, England are all gifted multi-instrumentalists who are well-known and well-loved in the traditional music circuit. The band brings a youthful energy and modern flair to each performance\, while remaining true to the traditional roots of the genre. Their on-stage chemistry is unmistakable – the type that only close siblings can have\, evident in exchanged glances and spontaneous smiles – and their musicianship is undeniable. \nFor years The Burnett Sisters have dominated the regional competition circuit – from fiddler’s conventions to music festival contests\, these young ladies have proven their chops. It was no surprise to anyone that the band took home the top prize at the MerleFest Band Competition in 2022. Most recently\, Anissa took home the prestigious blue ribbon for Old-Time Fiddle at the 2024 Old Galax Fiddlers Convention\, and Anneli won the incredible first place trophy in Folk Song\, both competing against hundreds of singers and fiddlers. On top of all that\, these talented individuals also find time to keep traditional music ways alive and well as instructors for the Watauga Junior Appalachian Musicians program\, as well as the Bluegrass\, Old-Time\, and Roots Music Studies program at ETSU. \nTo assign a genre to The Burnett Sisters Band would be to oversimplify the breadth of their musical influences – at a typical show\, an old-time fiddle tune might be followed by a George Jones song\, a driving bluegrass standard or a soaring gospel number. The sisters formed as a band when the youngest was six years old and since then\, TBSB has toured across the world and continue to share traditional music wherever they are able. \nAs the Bluegrass Standard noted\, “With more than a decade of playing music\, The Burnett Sisters Band brings their harmony to festivals and events across the United States… The North Carolina based group presents a unique blend of traditionally rooted music\, influenced by bluegrass and classic country music greats alike”. \nWith a repertoire that’s equal parts old-time and bluegrass\, swing\, and folk\, this Billboard charting band dives into their material with attention to detail and an appreciation for nuance that lends an authenticity and a feeling of genuine expression rarely matched in today’s traditional music. \n\nArtist Website

SUMMARY:The French Family Band
DESCRIPTION:Country music just sounds better when a family sings it. That’s where it all began: mothers\, fathers\, grandparents\, aunts\, uncles\, and cousins\, all huddled together\, picking and singing on a porch in the twilight. That’s why when The French Family launch into the bittersweet ache of a classic or the startling tenderness of one of their self-penned original songs\, the hairs on country music loving necks stand up\, and we instinctively––sometimes tearfully––recognize this father\, mother\, and son as the real thing. Touring over the last almost 20 years as Camille and Stuie\, the husband-and-wife duo became beloved in Australia. Stuie is a monster player with chops that sublimely meld the virtuosity and instinct of jazz with the clear tone and restraint of American hillbilly roots music. Camille holds a once-in-a-generation voice: somehow both crisply expressive and immeasurably rich and smooth\, she can sit back to soothe in a pocket before jumping out to thrill. Now based in Nashville and with the addition of middle son Sonny on stage\, The French Family is acclimating to life stateside––deep roots in tow. “I love being able to share our family music with people\,” says Camille. “I think people crave it. They come up and tell me how much they love seeing the love among our family and what we do––and I love being able to share that with everybody.” \nStuie agrees\, adding\, “We hope our music takes people back to a time when the essence of country music was twangy guitars\, honest songs\, and vocals that tear your heart out.” \nDoors open at 7pm. Show begins at 8pm. All tickets here are first come\, first served at the door. So if you are in the area\, plan to come down and enjoy live music with a pizza and a beer (or two!) \n\nArtist websiteFollow on FacebookFollow on Instagram

SUMMARY:Pam Setser Band
DESCRIPTION:Pam adds to her musical memories with the current lineup of groups she performs with; The Pam Setser Band\, Apple & Setser\, Leatherwoods\, and Ozark Granny Chicks. She also performs as a solo artist.  And today\, Pam’s newest album\, Now\, reflects her life in music. It is an Americana mix of folk\, bluegrass\, gospel\, 1930s swing\, and country. \nIt all began with her family.  “I started singing when I was 5 years old\,” Pam recalls. “My dad was already playing some guitar; mom played some autoharp…so we started playing as a family band\, The Simmons Family.”  She feels blessed to have been able to play music with her parents.  “I am the youngest of four children\, so music was a great outlet for me to see places I wouldn’t have experienced otherwise\,” Pam says. “We had lots of fun and adventures together\, and I treasure those memories.”  Pam also sang in church. “My grandpa was a Baptist preacher\,” Pam says\, “so the church was and still is a part of my life.” \nPam learned to play the autoharp when she was 8. “I would lay it on my lap to play so I could use my left hand for strumming” recalls the left-handed musician.  She describes how “my mother tried to teach me on a right-handed mountain dulcimer\, but I was having trouble…”; so “Lynn McSpadden\, the maker\, said\, ‘Let me make her a left-handed dulcimer.’ And that was what I needed.” \nAt 15\, Pam took up spoons. “I saw someone play them and just thought how neat\,” she remembers. “I want to do that!”  By the time she was 23\, it was time to learn guitar and upright bass.  “Most of my guitars have been specially ordered\,” Pam says. “Not every music store carries lefties. My latest guitar is a Red Gibson J200. We looked for it for three years and finally found it at a store in Texas called Southpaw.”  She plays upright bass\, by the way\, right-handed.   Of all these instruments the mountain dulcimer is her favorite. “It has such a sweet sound\, and I have such wonderful memories playing duets with my mom.”  While rearing her two children\, Pam says\, “my income from my music was our fun money…money was tight then.” \nYou can find Pam on many\, many recordings.  “The Simmons Family Band” made four albums. She is on five mountain dulcimer albums with her mom. Her solo albums are At Last\, Crooked Ridge\, and her latest Now. \n“Most of the songs on Crooked Ridge are more familiar songs\,” Pam says\, “whereas on Now\, most of these songs are first-time recordings.”  Pam enjoys a diversity of Americana music\, and that is reflected in the 13 songs on Now. But at the end of the day\, it is all about the song.  “I didn’t pick the songs thinking about genres. I picked the songs because I liked the words and melody. When we recorded them\, each song took its own direction.” \nPam is now with Valerie Smith’s Bell Buckle Records. Valerie is also acting as Pam’s creative marketing director.  Pam continues to make her musical memories with her records\, performances with her bands while living in Mountain View\, Arkansas\, the place where she grew up and still calls home. \nLike many musicians\, Pam has been performing on Facebook because of the pandemic.  “I feel God has given me my talent\, and I always hope my music blesses those who listen\,” Pam says. “I feed off an audience that gets into your performance. No matter what is going on in my life\, when I get on stage\, it’s like all is OK.” \n\nArtist Website
