SUMMARY:Gunning & Cormier
DESCRIPTION:Two of Canada’s greatest roots singer-songwriters have finally done what everybody’s wanted — heck\, what they’ve wanted — for years. Dave Gunning and J.P. Cormier are releasing their first album together\, called Two. Great friends\, frequent collaborators\, co-writers and touring partners\, the pair has been talking about this album since pretty much the day they met. Now it’s here\, and it’s everything fans hoped and dreamed it would be. \nThe album is called Two because that’s what it is\, just the two of them. \nGunning & Cormier have been playing some select gigs over the past few months\, in anticipation of the album’s release. “It seems to be a different kind of response from the audience that I’m not too sure that either of us have experienced be-fore\,” says Gunning. “We love singing together\, we love playing guitar together\, it just works.” \nTwo is as real as it gets. Two songwriters\, interpreters\, guitar players\, and singers at their peak. It’s the power of the song\, the highest quality from the past to the now. It’s two friends\, brothers\, uncompromising performers\, making the album of their lives. There couldn’t be a better time to discover Gunning & Cormier\, and the power of Two. \nArtist Website

SUMMARY:The Wood Box Heroes
DESCRIPTION:Wood Box Heroes\, the American acoustic super-group\, is hardly anything like the bluegrass music you used to find in the cassette player of your grandad’s old chevy pickup truck. Deeply rooted in tradition while melding together an eclectic-array of sounds from the country\, bluegrass\, blues\, jazz\, rock\, and classical varieties\, paired with crafty and authentic songwriting\, the band delivers a piercing listening experience that plunges deep into the caverns of the soul. \nBringing together some of the world’s most highly lauded musicians in Matt Menefee(banjo-Mumford & Sons\, Cadillac Sky\, Warren Haynes)\,  and Barry Bales (bass-Alison Krauss & Union Station) backing up the vocal magic of Jenee Fleenor (fiddle-Blake Shelton\, Larry Cordle) and Josh Martin (singer/songwriter/guitarist)\, this unit has over a century of musical seasoning between them. Yet\, it is quite astonishing that the years spent on separate roads\, accompanying a spectrum of incredible artists and receiving some of the most sought-after honors and awards in the business\, has led to this enigmatic musical intersection. \n\nArtist Website

SUMMARY:Toby's House
DESCRIPTION:Toby’s House is made up of Mike Zikovich and GRAMMY winner Jeff Taylor\, two very good friends who have a great love for the accordion\, across many musical styles and geographical borders. Joey cut his accordion chops’ as a regular on the Lawrence Welk show and currently can be found playing locally with The Music City Playboys or on tour with country music star Alan Jackson. \nThey have all been bandleaders from Broadway in NYC to the Ryman in Nashville. Their live and recording credits run an amazing musical gamut; Kenny Rogers\, Pavarotti\, Dolly Parton\, Amy Grant\, The Chieftains\, Elvis Costello\, Charlie McCoy\, Waylon Jennings\, Frank Yankovic\, Mel Tormé\, Blake Shelton\, Ricky Skaggs\, David Phelps\, Alison Krauss\, Paul Simon\, Harry Connick Jr.\, Kenny Chesney\, Steven Tyler\, Keb Mo\, Miranda Lambert\, Cyndi Lauper\, The Time Jumpers and The Riders in The Sky.

SUMMARY:The Tennessee Warblers
DESCRIPTION:A Nashville institution\, the Tennessee Warblers have been jamming folky grooves since 2014 with a rotating cast of pickin' pals culled from Music City's vibrant bluegrass and Grateful Dead community. \nJohn Beck and Adam Dalton met while performing together in various projects and bonded over the acoustic music of Jerry Garcia and David Grisman. On a winter's eve\, they tried their hands at co-writing and the song "Restless" was born. Soon thereafter the Warblers took flight performing in and around Music City before starting what was to become a 5 year residency at Nashville's legendary Sutler Saloon. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThere the group honed their sound and was featured on the Travel Channel's Food Paradise. In 2016 they released their debut EP of which the Murfreesboro Pulse called "a solid debut peppered with well-played instrumental breaks\, and recommended for fans of Americana and Southern folk." \nThey stayed busy touring\, performing at festivals (Hoedown on the Harpeth Bluegrass Festival\, Nashville Predators' Craft Beer Festival\, East Nashville Beer Festival) and periodically orchestrated tributes to their heroes\, performing Bob Dylan's Nashville Skyline and the Grateful Dead's Europe '72 albums in their entirety. \nAfter distilling some fresh songs\, they linked up with engineer Nathan Yarborough (The Mavericks\, Leanne Rimes\, Mastodon) to cut their debut record live in the warm wood walls of Madison\, TN's Bluegrass Compound. Seated together in a circle in the shotgun cabin hall\, they took turns calling tunes from their repertoire and let the tape roll. \nThe resulting record\, Small Town Songs\, was released in November 2022 to which Ana Lee of WMOT Roots Radio 89.5FM called\, "A really fun album. A lotta great covers. A lotta great originals." Edd Hurt of the Nashville Scene wrote\, "Small Town Songs makes me happy to know the Nashville bluegrass-Dead community is thriving." \nIn 2023 the group performed the record on their Small Towns Tour\, collaborated with Midnight North at the Touch of Brews Music Festival and of all things sang to Chuck Norris AND survived! \nThe band continues to serve up a fun mix of rootsy originals and cherry picked covers to all who'll lend an ear. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArtist Website

Her pure and sincere styling takes the listener to a very personal place\, evoking a colorful palate of emotion. Her flawless and captivating performances\, both in the concert hall and the recording studio\, have earned for her the admiration of fellow musicians and fans alike. In short\, Val Storey is truly a “singer’s singer.” \nRaised in Roanoke\, Virginia\, Val moved with her family to Nashville\, picking up bluegrass\, country\, gospel\, blues\, and jazz influences along the way. With an undeniable gift\, performance opportunities came quickly for the shy teen\, including working with the legendary Jordanaires. She later became the lead vocalist for the jazz group Pulse. She was one of the youngest performers to be featured regularly in various country music shows at Nashville’s Opryland theme park. \nAs a Nashville session singer\, Val has worked for major labels and publishing companies\, including Columbia\, Mercury\, RCA\, Rounder\, Sony\, and Universal. Storey has lent her voice to recordings for Dolly Parton\, Joey + Rory\, Larry Cordle & Lonesome Standard Time\, Bradley Walker\, Gene Watson\, and many more. \nWhere Flowers Bloom was her first full-length solo CD; an independent release. The young singer chose to follow her heart rather than the restriction of the many record label offers that came her way. She has remained on that genuine\, heartfelt path\, creating and sharing music with a traditional flavor and interpreting each song in her own stirring and transcendent way. \nVal eventually reconnected with Grammy award-winning producer and songwriter Carl Jackson\, whom she’d first met when Jackson recorded her family’s own recording studio. “I would sneak down after bedtime and listen just outside the studio door\,” Val remembers. “I knew even then that Carl was an amazing musician.” Little did she know that\, just a few years later\, Carl would be producing an album with her as a featured artist. \nCarl invited Val to lend her voice to his on the 2010 project\, Mark Twain: Words and Music. Her haunting vocal on “Love Is On Our Side” hearkens to the grief experienced by Twain at the death of his oldest daughter\, Susy. The critically-acclaimed project introduced Val to top names in music and entertainment\, and a worldwide audience. \nVal and her husband survived a devastating motorcycle accident in August 2020\, and months of rehabilitation followed. “God’s keeping me around. With COVID\, the accident\, all the challenges\, God has been there for me every minute. I pray and talk to God. I know He is in control. I know that with Him\, we can find comfort and peace.” \nFortunately\, Val was able to return to the Station Inn stage with a weekly Sunday gospel show\, and a Monday night performance brimming with traditional country and more; both shows include a cast of Val’s gifted and high-profile friends. She was a special guest at the Country Hall of Fame and Museum in July of 2021. Filmed as part of the exhibit\, The Station Inn: Bluegrass Beacon\, Storey shared stories from her career in an installment of the Live At The Hall music and education program. \nVal’s own story continues to unfold\, with her sophomore album\, produced by the legendary Larry Cordle\, set for release in May of 2023. \n\n“Val Storey belongs in a special group of female vocalists… better than good\, better than great… elite!  God has blessed me beyond my wildest dreams by allowing me to sing with the best of the best… you know those “first name” singers… Linda\, Dolly\, Emmylou\, Tammy\, Patty\, Trisha\, Alison\, Sonya\, Martina\, Rhonda\, etc… and every Monday night at the Station Inn I get the same goosebumps on my arms\, the same chills running down my spine\, and feel the same pride singing with… Val.”\n– Grammy winning singer\, songwriter\, producer\, Carl Jackson \n“We’ve all heard the expression that that person has the voice of an angel. That’s the only way I know how to describe Val Storey. She truly has the voice of an angel. She knows how to connect her heart and her voice to a song and deliver it to the person that needs to hear it. And when you hear Val Storey singing\, you will definitely think there’s an Angel singing. She’s a wonderful person inside and out and I am proud to know her as my friend.”\n– Multi award winning singer and songwriter\, Jimmy Fortune \n\n\n“When I think of heaven\, I think of angels singing. When I hear Val Storey sing\, I start to think I’m already there. Her angelic voice is a glimpse of what I can only hope it will sound like there.  Val is\, without a doubt\, one the greatest singers God ever gave breath to.”\n– Multi award winning singer and songwriter\, and Grammy nominated producer\, Jerry Salley \n\n\nArtist Website

SUMMARY:The French Family Band
DESCRIPTION:Country music just sounds better when a family sings it. That’s where it all began: mothers\, fathers\, grandparents\, aunts\, uncles\, and cousins\, all huddled together\, picking and singing on a porch in the twilight. That’s why when The French Family launch into the bittersweet ache of a classic or the startling tenderness of one of their self-penned original songs\, the hairs on country music loving necks stand up\, and we instinctively––sometimes tearfully––recognize this father\, mother\, and son as the real thing. Touring over the last almost 20 years as Camille and Stuie\, the husband-and-wife duo became beloved in Australia. Stuie is a monster player with chops that sublimely meld the virtuosity and instinct of jazz with the clear tone and restraint of American hillbilly roots music. Camille holds a once-in-a-generation voice: somehow both crisply expressive and immeasurably rich and smooth\, she can sit back to soothe in a pocket before jumping out to thrill. Now based in Nashville and with the addition of middle son Sonny on stage\, The French Family is acclimating to life stateside––deep roots in tow. “I love being able to share our family music with people\,” says Camille. “I think people crave it. They come up and tell me how much they love seeing the love among our family and what we do––and I love being able to share that with everybody.” \nStuie agrees\, adding\, “We hope our music takes people back to a time when the essence of country music was twangy guitars\, honest songs\, and vocals that tear your heart out.” \nDoors open at 7pm. Show begins at 8pm. All tickets here are first come\, first served at the door. SUMMARY:Val Storey and The Family Band
DESCRIPTION:Anyone who’s had the opportunity to experience a live show at Nashville’s iconic Station Inn is likely familiar with the mesmerizing Val Storey. The petite dynamo has been a staple at the iconic venue for several years. With her versatile\, crystalline vocals\, Val’s performances\, ranging from driving bluegrass to traditional county\, gospel and jazz stylings\, evoke genuine emotion in her many fans. \nWith the May 2023 release of Share Your Secrets With Me\, produced by the legendary Larry Cordle\, those many fans are sure to multiply for the diminutive singer with the powerful pipes. \nStorey is indeed one of the entertainment industry’s premier vocalists.
