SUMMARY:Eddie Sanders
DESCRIPTION:Eddie Sanders is a world-class Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist from McAlester\, Oklahoma. Eddie was born into southwest bluegrass royalty\, and his father is legendary bluegrass festival and concert promoter\, Freddie Sanders. The Sanders Family Bluegrass Festival in McAlester was one of the biggest and best bluegrass festivals west of the Mississippi\, and one of the favorite venues for bluegrass acts Bill Monroe\, The Osborne Brothers\, Lewis Family\, Jim & Jesse\, Ralph Stanley and nearly every major bluegrass act of the last 40 years. The McAlester festivals were shaped and guided by his major bluegrass influences: Mac Wiseman\, Larry Sparks and The Osborne Brothers. He also developed the professionalism that he learned from the best acts in the business\, and also learned the power of a song and a love for original material. Eddie was also strongly influenced by Merle Haggard and Gene Watson and soon started writing his own songs. \nEddie’s work\, both as a singer and a songwriter\, combines the best elements of the old and the new. With a family tradition steeped in the history of bluegrass music\, and influenced by the best of what has come along since\, Eddie Sanders’ new recorded songs are a powerful statement of what the best bluegrass music has always been\, and what the best bluegrass music will be in years to come. \n\n\n\n\nArtist Website

SUMMARY:Val Storey and The Family Band
DESCRIPTION:Anyone who’s had the opportunity to experience a live show at Nashville’s iconic Station Inn is likely familiar with the mesmerizing Val Storey. The petite dynamo has been a staple at the iconic venue for several years. With her versatile\, crystalline vocals\, Val’s performances\, ranging from driving bluegrass to traditional county\, gospel and jazz stylings\, evoke genuine emotion in her many fans. \nWith the May 2023 release of Share Your Secrets With Me\, produced by the legendary Larry Cordle\, those many fans are sure to multiply for the diminutive singer with the powerful pipes. \nStorey is indeed one of the entertainment industry’s premier vocalists. Her pure and sincere styling takes the listener to a very personal place\, evoking a colorful palate of emotion. Her flawless and captivating performances\, both in the concert hall and the recording studio\, have earned for her the admiration of fellow musicians and fans alike. In short\, Val Storey is truly a “singer’s singer.” \nRaised in Roanoke\, Virginia\, Val moved with her family to Nashville\, picking up bluegrass\, country\, gospel\, blues\, and jazz influences along the way. With an undeniable gift\, performance opportunities came quickly for the shy teen\, including working with the legendary Jordanaires. She later became the lead vocalist for the jazz group Pulse. She was one of the youngest performers to be featured regularly in various country music shows at Nashville’s Opryland theme park. \nAs a Nashville session singer\, Val has worked for major labels and publishing companies\, including Columbia\, Mercury\, RCA\, Rounder\, Sony\, and Universal. Storey has lent her voice to recordings for Dolly Parton\, Joey + Rory\, Larry Cordle & Lonesome Standard Time\, Bradley Walker\, Gene Watson\, and many more. \nWhere Flowers Bloom was her first full-length solo CD; an independent release. The young singer chose to follow her heart rather than the restriction of the many record label offers that came her way. She has remained on that genuine\, heartfelt path\, creating and sharing music with a traditional flavor and interpreting each song in her own stirring and transcendent way. \nVal eventually reconnected with Grammy award-winning producer and songwriter Carl Jackson\, whom she’d first met when Jackson recorded her family’s own recording studio. “I would sneak down after bedtime and listen just outside the studio door\,” Val remembers. “I knew even then that Carl was an amazing musician.” Little did she know that\, just a few years later\, Carl would be producing an album with her as a featured artist. \nCarl invited Val to lend her voice to his on the 2010 project\, Mark Twain: Words and Music. Her haunting vocal on “Love Is On Our Side” hearkens to the grief experienced by Twain at the death of his oldest daughter\, Susy. The critically-acclaimed project introduced Val to top names in music and entertainment\, and a worldwide audience. \nVal and her husband survived a devastating motorcycle accident in August 2020\, and months of rehabilitation followed. “God’s keeping me around. With COVID\, the accident\, all the challenges\, God has been there for me every minute. I pray and talk to God. I know He is in control. I know that with Him\, we can find comfort and peace.” \nFortunately\, Val was able to return to the Station Inn stage with a weekly Sunday gospel show\, and a Monday night performance brimming with traditional country and more; both shows include a cast of Val’s gifted and high-profile friends. She was a special guest at the Country Hall of Fame and Museum in July of 2021. Filmed as part of the exhibit\, The Station Inn: Bluegrass Beacon\, Storey shared stories from her career in an installment of the Live At The Hall music and education program. \nVal’s own story continues to unfold\, with her sophomore album\, produced by the legendary Larry Cordle\, set for release in May of 2023. \n\n“Val Storey belongs in a special group of female vocalists… better than good\, better than great… elite!  God has blessed me beyond my wildest dreams by allowing me to sing with the best of the best… you know those “first name” singers… Linda\, Dolly\, Emmylou\, Tammy\, Patty\, Trisha\, Alison\, Sonya\, Martina\, Rhonda\, etc… and every Monday night at the Station Inn I get the same goosebumps on my arms\, the same chills running down my spine\, and feel the same pride singing with… Val.”\n– Grammy winning singer\, songwriter\, producer\, Carl Jackson \n“We’ve all heard the expression that that person has the voice of an angel. That’s the only way I know how to describe Val Storey. She truly has the voice of an angel. She knows how to connect her heart and her voice to a song and deliver it to the person that needs to hear it. And when you hear Val Storey singing\, you will definitely think there’s an Angel singing. She’s a wonderful person inside and out and I am proud to know her as my friend.”\n– Multi award winning singer and songwriter\, Jimmy Fortune \n\n\n“When I think of heaven\, I think of angels singing. When I hear Val Storey sing\, I start to think I’m already there. Her angelic voice is a glimpse of what I can only hope it will sound like there.  Val is\, without a doubt\, one the greatest singers God ever gave breath to.”\n– Multi award winning singer and songwriter\, and Grammy nominated producer\, Jerry Salley \n\n\nArtist Website

SUMMARY:Junior Sisk
DESCRIPTION:Junior Sisk is widely recognized as one of today’s top bluegrass vocalists and is a constant reminder that traditional bluegrass is still alive and well. A longtime resident of the Virginia Blue Ridge\, his bluegrass pedigree runs deep. Influenced by a father who wrote songs and played guitar and a mother who sang\, Sisk first learned to play around age 14. \n\nHis early influences included The Stanley Brothers\, Larry Sparks\, and Dave Evans\, but he often credits the Johnson Mountain Boys with inspiring him to pursue bluegrass professionally. Sisk first made his mark in bluegrass as a songwriter in the early 1990s\, penning classic Lonesome River Band songs like “Game (I Can’t Win)” and “Tears Are Blinding Me.” \nAs a member of Wyatt Rice & Santa Cruz and Blueridge\, he helped define the sound of driving\, modern traditional bluegrass. Sisk founded Ramblers Choice in 1998\, releasing Sounds of the Mountains on Rounder Records. After leaving Blueridge in 2006\, he reformed the group and began a successful career with Rebel Records. His 2011 album Heart of a Song helped bring the band into the spotlight and eventually was named IBMA Album of the Year in 2012. Its single “A Far Cry from Lester and Earl\,” which Sisk co-wrote\, became a rallying cry for a resurgence of traditional sounds in bluegrass and received the 2012 Song of the Year Award from the IBMA. Sisk was furthered honored when he was named 2013 IBMA Male Vocalist of the Year\, while his band earned the 2014 SPBGMA Bluegrass Band of the Year award. In 2016\, “Longneck Blues\,” a collaboration with noted singer-songwriter Ronnie Bowman\, was named Recorded Event of the Year by the IBMA. Most recently\, Sisk received the 2017 Male Vocalist of the Year award from SPBGMA. He and his band now record for Mountain Fever Records\, and are currently promoting their third album for the label\, LOAD THE WAGON. LOAD THE WAGON\, spent a consecutive SIX months at the #1 spot on the National Survey Chart in 2020 and became Junior’s most successful album to date amidst the pandemic. A brand new single has just been released\, “I Wanna Be Where You Are\,” the first from a forthcoming new album due out at a date yet to be announced by Mountain Fever Records. \nSolidifying the success of the latest album\, Junior Sisk has received a landslide of nominations in the IBMA Awards for 2021\, including Album Of The Year\, for LOAD THE WAGON\, Song Of The Year\, for “Just Load The Wagon” and Male Vocalist Of The Year. SPBGMA also recognized Junior’s recent music releases with two WINS in February 2022\, for Album Of The Year\, for LOAD THE WAGON\, Song Of The Year\, for “Just Load The Wagon!” \nMountain Fever has released three singles ahead of Junior’s next album so far\, with “I Wanna Be Where You Are\,” “Patches On My Heart\,” and the newest “Up There On A Hillside\,” and there is no doubt that the album anticipation is building among his fans worldwide. \n\n\nArtist Website

SUMMARY:The Po' Ramblin' Boys
DESCRIPTION:Every so often a band comes around that knocks everybody’s socks off and gets people talking. I’d bet good money that you’re gonna really enjoy them\, but I don’t want to take your money. Use it to listen to the PRB. I‘m putting my money on them. \n-Jim Lauderdale \nAt a time when most people feel constantly distracted by technology and barraged by the news\, authenticity and straightforward honesty are paramount. There’s something about the music of The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys that cuts right through the noise of the world and speaks plainly to the soul. Formed in the Smoky Mountains\, The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys are at once exactly what you would expect and not at all what you would expect from a tattooed East Tennessee Bluegrass outfit. No strangers to hard work\, the boys are as much at home riding in their restored Eagle tour bus as they are crawling underneath to fix it when it needs maintenance. But they take pride in being ambassadors of their genre\, and the group has brought their music from rural bluegrass festival stages to the rock clubs of Europe\, and even the GRAMMY Red Carpet\, with stunning results. “I think to a certain extent everyone is just craving music that they can feel\, and any music that feels real will reach any audience” says CJ Lewandowski\, the groups founder\, “We want to put bluegrass right where it’s least expected”. Perhaps this mindset is why the group earned the title of Emerging Artist of the Year at the 2018 IBMA Awards. \nIn 2014\, Lewandowski was working at Ole Smoky Moonshine Distillery in Sevierville\, TN when the band first formed. The distillery employed musicians to play for visitors seven days a week\, and Lewandowski\, who primarily plays Mandolin and sings\, was occasionally hired to fill in when the entertainment didn’t show. Eventually\, the distillery approached him about forming a band for a full time slot\, so he reached out to long time music friends Jereme Brown\, who plays banjo for the group\, and Josh Rinkel\, who plays guitar. “Jereme was doing a lot of welding work at that time\, and Josh was running a sign company”\, says Lewandowski\, “I think we were all ready to do something new\, something with our music but we didn’t know when or how”. Bassist Jasper Lorentzen happened to be working in the tasting room at the distillery\, and he turned out to be the perfect addition to the band. The four friends played multiple times a week for a year and half\, honing their band sound\, meanwhile word was spreading about their music. “The first gig we played out of town was a festival in Alberta\, Canada\, and a week later we went on a two week tour of Europe\, it was crazy”\, says Lewandowski. In 2020\, the finishing touch\, the cherry on top if you will\, was added to the quartet. Laura Orshaw\, a seasoned fiddle player and singer joined the Boys after contributing her talents to the Sound Biscuit Productions’ full Gospel album\, “God’s Love is So Divine” and “Toils\, Tears\, & Trouble.” On the addition C.J. exclaims “after 5 1/2 together as a four piece\, we needed that perfect fit that would not only fit us on stage and recording\, but a personality that would add to the band and be a part of the family we have created. Laura was that person and we can’t think of anyone else that fits our music and our family better than her. The show has benefitted so much from Laura and the chemistry we have between the now 5 of us.” \nMaterial for the group’s freshman Rounder Records album “Toil\, Tears & Teouble\,” was a combination of original songs and old numbers that honor the group’s mentors and bluegrass heroes. “We love to dig up old songs that haven’t been heard in years and bring them back into the spotlight”\, explains Lewandowski. In fact\, two of those gems on the Rounder album\, “Next Train South” and “Hickory\, Walnut & Pine\,” were nominated for IBMA Song of the Year along with “Next Train South” taking the trophy for SPBGMA same category in 2020. The momentum of “Toil\, Tears & Trouble” has continued to grow with the band’s first GRAMMY Nomination for Best Bluegrass Album.\nThe Po’ Ramblin’ Boys passion for bluegrass is as clear as it is contagious. With a heavy touring schedule across the United States and Europe and recent Grammy Nomination with Rounder Records\, the Boys are well on their way to becoming the quintessential bluegrass band of their generation. Despite all of their recent success\, they maintain a humble perspective. “Bluegrass has left such a mark on us that we feel like we owe something back to the music”\, says Lewandowski. “We want to do something for the music to show our appreciation… There’s no telling what could have happened to us\, what we would have become if we hadn’t found this music. It’s gotten us through a lot\, the good and the bad. When I think about all of the damn medications that I didn’t have to take because I had music to turn to. We didn’t have to go to the doctor and pay for something to make us feel better\, because we had this music\, so we really want to honor it by bringing it out of the shadows and onto new stages and wider audiences. Because we know that if we can bring Bluegrass to new folks\, those folks will come with us and support the bluegrass community.” \n“Loved having the guys in studio… great live performance…they’re the real deal” ! \n– Charlie Mattos producer/cohost Coffee\, Country & Cody \n\nArtist Website
