SUMMARY:The French Family Band
DESCRIPTION:Country music just sounds better when a family sings it. That’s where it all began: mothers\, fathers\, grandparents\, aunts\, uncles\, and cousins\, all huddled together\, picking and singing on a porch in the twilight. That’s why when The French Family launch into the bittersweet ache of a classic or the startling tenderness of one of their self-penned original songs\, the hairs on country music loving necks stand up\, and we instinctively––sometimes tearfully––recognize this father\, mother\, and son as the real thing. Touring over the last almost 20 years as Camille and Stuie\, the husband-and-wife duo became beloved in Australia. Stuie is a monster player with chops that sublimely meld the virtuosity and instinct of jazz with the clear tone and restraint of American hillbilly roots music. Camille holds a once-in-a-generation voice: somehow both crisply expressive and immeasurably rich and smooth\, she can sit back to soothe in a pocket before jumping out to thrill. Now based in Nashville and with the addition of middle son Sonny on stage\, The French Family is acclimating to life stateside––deep roots in tow. “I love being able to share our family music with people\,” says Camille. “I think people crave it. They come up and tell me how much they love seeing the love among our family and what we do––and I love being able to share that with everybody.” \nStuie agrees\, adding\, “We hope our music takes people back to a time when the essence of country music was twangy guitars\, honest songs\, and vocals that tear your heart out.” \nDoors open at 7pm. Show begins at 8pm. All tickets here are first come\, first served at the door. So if you are in the area\, plan to come down and enjoy live music with a pizza and a beer (or two!) \n\nArtist websiteFollow on FacebookFollow on Instagram

SUMMARY:The Po' Ramblin' Boys
DESCRIPTION:Every so often a band comes around that knocks everybody’s socks off and gets people talking. I’d bet good money that you’re gonna really enjoy them\, but I don’t want to take your money. Use it to listen to the PRB. I‘m putting my money on them. \n-Jim Lauderdale \nAt a time when most people feel constantly distracted by technology and barraged by the news\, authenticity and straightforward honesty are paramount. There’s something about the music of The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys that cuts right through the noise of the world and speaks plainly to the soul. Formed in the Smoky Mountains\, The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys are at once exactly what you would expect and not at all what you would expect from a tattooed East Tennessee Bluegrass outfit. No strangers to hard work\, the boys are as much at home riding in their restored Eagle tour bus as they are crawling underneath to fix it when it needs maintenance. But they take pride in being ambassadors of their genre\, and the group has brought their music from rural bluegrass festival stages to the rock clubs of Europe\, and even the GRAMMY Red Carpet\, with stunning results. “I think to a certain extent everyone is just craving music that they can feel\, and any music that feels real will reach any audience” says CJ Lewandowski\, the groups founder\, “We want to put bluegrass right where it’s least expected”. Perhaps this mindset is why the group earned the title of Emerging Artist of the Year at the 2018 IBMA Awards. \nIn 2014\, Lewandowski was working at Ole Smoky Moonshine Distillery in Sevierville\, TN when the band first formed. The distillery employed musicians to play for visitors seven days a week\, and Lewandowski\, who primarily plays Mandolin and sings\, was occasionally hired to fill in when the entertainment didn’t show. Eventually\, the distillery approached him about forming a band for a full time slot\, so he reached out to long time music friends Jereme Brown\, who plays banjo for the group\, and Josh Rinkel\, who plays guitar. “Jereme was doing a lot of welding work at that time\, and Josh was running a sign company”\, says Lewandowski\, “I think we were all ready to do something new\, something with our music but we didn’t know when or how”. Bassist Jasper Lorentzen happened to be working in the tasting room at the distillery\, and he turned out to be the perfect addition to the band. The four friends played multiple times a week for a year and half\, honing their band sound\, meanwhile word was spreading about their music. “The first gig we played out of town was a festival in Alberta\, Canada\, and a week later we went on a two week tour of Europe\, it was crazy”\, says Lewandowski. In 2020\, the finishing touch\, the cherry on top if you will\, was added to the quartet. Laura Orshaw\, a seasoned fiddle player and singer joined the Boys after contributing her talents to the Sound Biscuit Productions’ full Gospel album\, “God’s Love is So Divine” and “Toils\, Tears\, & Trouble.” On the addition C.J. exclaims “after 5 1/2 together as a four piece\, we needed that perfect fit that would not only fit us on stage and recording\, but a personality that would add to the band and be a part of the family we have created. Laura was that person and we can’t think of anyone else that fits our music and our family better than her. The show has benefitted so much from Laura and the chemistry we have between the now 5 of us.” \nMaterial for the group’s freshman Rounder Records album “Toil\, Tears & Teouble\,” was a combination of original songs and old numbers that honor the group’s mentors and bluegrass heroes. “We love to dig up old songs that haven’t been heard in years and bring them back into the spotlight”\, explains Lewandowski. In fact\, two of those gems on the Rounder album\, “Next Train South” and “Hickory\, Walnut & Pine\,” were nominated for IBMA Song of the Year along with “Next Train South” taking the trophy for SPBGMA same category in 2020. The momentum of “Toil\, Tears & Trouble” has continued to grow with the band’s first GRAMMY Nomination for Best Bluegrass Album.\nThe Po’ Ramblin’ Boys passion for bluegrass is as clear as it is contagious. With a heavy touring schedule across the United States and Europe and recent Grammy Nomination with Rounder Records\, the Boys are well on their way to becoming the quintessential bluegrass band of their generation. Despite all of their recent success\, they maintain a humble perspective. “Bluegrass has left such a mark on us that we feel like we owe something back to the music”\, says Lewandowski. “We want to do something for the music to show our appreciation… There’s no telling what could have happened to us\, what we would have become if we hadn’t found this music. It’s gotten us through a lot\, the good and the bad. When I think about all of the damn medications that I didn’t have to take because I had music to turn to. We didn’t have to go to the doctor and pay for something to make us feel better\, because we had this music\, so we really want to honor it by bringing it out of the shadows and onto new stages and wider audiences. Because we know that if we can bring Bluegrass to new folks\, those folks will come with us and support the bluegrass community.” \n“Loved having the guys in studio… great live performance…they’re the real deal” ! \n– Charlie Mattos producer/cohost Coffee\, Country & Cody \n\nArtist Website

SUMMARY:Daniel Grindstaff
DESCRIPTION:Over the years\, banjo extraordinaire Daniel Grindstaff has carved out his own path in the Bluegrass\, Americana and Country industries. Along the way\, he’s shared the stage with some of his biggest musical heroes\, appeared countless times at the iconic Grand Ole Opry and made several national television appearances. A native of East Tennessee\, he has performed across the United States and Canada with some of the very best in Bluegrass\, Acoustic\, and Country music. \nDaniel began his professional music career at the young age of 18\, performing at the Opry in Nashville\, Tennessee with late bluegrass legends Jim and Jesse McReynolds. At the age of 21\, Daniel was not only performing with the McReynolds’\, but had also been called upon to take the stage with the iconic Osborne Brothers\, best known for their familiar hit and Tennessee state song “Rocky Top.” In the fall of 2006\, Daniel began touring with Grammy Award winning artist\, Marty Raybon. For the next five years Daniel remained an important part of Raybon’s studio recordings and concerts. \nAs the years followed\, Grindstaff kept forging along\, releasing new music of his own and doing what he loves\, which is performing for fans. With a musical career that covers hundreds of appearances on the coveted stage of the Grand Ole Opry (as recent as 2024 with Daily & Vincent)\, national television appearances on Fox News morning show “Fox & Friends\,” Smithsonian Folklife Festival\, CMA Music Fest in Nashville\, hundreds of live concerts\, and many studio recordings\, Daniel Grindstaff’s musical career and accomplishments speak for themselves\, and he’s just getting started! \nAll that experience is coming full circle with the release of his 2024 solo project\, Heroes & Friends\, released via Bonfire Music Group. It quickly stuck a chord\, with the single “Forever Young” featuring Dolly Parton and Paul Brewster hitting No. 1 on the Bluegrass Unlimited National Airplay Survey and the follow-up release “Finnland” feat. Andy Leftwich topping the Bluegrass Today Monthly Airplay Chart. Other artists featured on the collection include Jimmy Fortune\, Rickey Wasson\, Doyle Lawson and Kevin Richardson. It’s safe to say\, the future is certainly looking bright for the chart-topping hitmaker. \n\nArtist Website

SUMMARY:Rebecca Frazier
DESCRIPTION:Rebecca Frazier’s lifelong journey between mountains and coastal waters is the backdrop for her flagship album releasing Sept. 13 on Compass Records\, BOARDING WINDOWS IN PARADISE\, a tour de force of bluegrass and acoustic roots music which celebrates the here and now. Frazier’s compelling original songs range from hard driving to thoughtful emotive folk\, and her bluegrass interpretations of diverse classics from Madonna to Uncle Dave Macon fill out the album in a fine-tuned way that only experienced musicians can deliver. A bevy of acoustic A-listers such as Béla Fleck (banjo)\, Sam Bush (mandolin)\, and Stuart Duncan (fiddle) flavor her music with the wisdom and grace she was striving to present as she captured life’s juxtapositions with her new music. \nFrazier’s bond with GRAMMY-winning producer Bill Wolf\, known for working with Tony Rice and Grateful Dead\, was the catalyst for the significant caliber of musicianship on the album. Her guitar instrumentals such as “Cantie Reel” give a tip of the hat to guitar legends Tony Rice and the late jazz guitarist Emily Remler\, about whom Frazier wrote her Honors Senior Thesis at the University of Michigan. \nA bluegrass luminary herself\, Frazier gained notoriety as the first woman to grace the cover of Flatpicking Guitar Magazine. In 2018\, the Virginia native also became the first woman to earn a Guitar Performer of the Year nomination from the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBGMA)\, an honor she received again in 2019. Frazier is widely known for her work with Colorado-based outfit Hit & Run\, the only band to score the bluegrass-world trifecta of winning Rockygrass\, Telluride and SPBGMA festival band competitions. A single mom of two teens\, Frazier continues to divide her time between Nashville and Virginia. Like generations of her ancestors who have lived along Virginia’s coast\, she\, too\, has weathered life’s hurricanes and battering winds — and witnessed its luminous beauty — and she wanted to capture that juxtaposition with her new music. \n\nArtist Website

SUMMARY:Caleb Caudle & The Sweet Critters
DESCRIPTION:Just as the marbled salamanders emerge from under damp logs and leaves\, the mushrooms—smooth\, pearlescent ones and spongy morels—turn on like night lights glowing in the dark\, and the long-horned beetles and regal moths begin buzzing. The fiddlehead ferns and trout lilies curl inward\, a copperhead slowly swerves\, and a fox steps into the moonlight looking for prey. It is here\, in that restless middle of the night\, under cover of darkness\, where Caleb Caudle’s sixth studio LP Sweet Critters is nestled. \nThrough sometimes shadowy arrangements that creep and lurk\, Caudle continues to mine both the brightest and murkiest corners of his imagination\, finding that purest of points where tenderness and grit collide\, inspired by musical heroes like Buddy Miller and Guy Clark\, and mentors like Elizabeth Cook and John Paul White. It was White who Caudle tapped to produce Sweet Critters\, along with Ben Tanner\, at the duo’s Florence\, Alabama studio Sun Drop Sound. “I was very excited to work with Caleb on this record. Iʼve been a fan for years and count him as a friend\,” White says of working with Caudle. “Heʼs a stellar songwriter\, so I knew heʼd bring the goods. And he did.” The album features Allison Russell\, Aoife OʼDonovan\, John Paul White\, and Caudleʼs own touring band. \nThese songs are a showcase of Caudle’s singular command of language. He sees the world through a hyperreal lens wholly unique to him\, one that renders dank humidity “horsefly heat\,” a moody sky “cast iron skillet” dark\, or a loved one’s “wind chime of a smile.” For Caudle\, details are the last frontier in a world where thousands of new songs are created every day. As such\, he weaves his intricate tales of redemption\, sacrifice\, forgiveness\, and loss with the colorful threads of living\, breathing characters and all the rich idiosyncrasies and ephemera that fill out their worlds. \nCaudle and his band have played Stagecoach\, Cayamo\, Luck Reunion\, Mountain Stage\, Merlefest\, Americanafest\, The Long Road (UK)\, AMAUK (UK)\, and recently supported Marty Stuart\, Steve Earle\, Hayes Carll\, Elizabeth Cook\, Brent Cobb\, Charles Wesley Godwin\, Ray Wylie Hubbard\, and many more. \n\n\n\n\n\nArtist Website
