SUMMARY:The French Family Band
DESCRIPTION:Country music just sounds better when a family sings it. That’s where it all began: mothers\, fathers\, grandparents\, aunts\, uncles\, and cousins\, all huddled together\, picking and singing on a porch in the twilight. That’s why when The French Family launch into the bittersweet ache of a classic or the startling tenderness of one of their self-penned original songs\, the hairs on country music loving necks stand up\, and we instinctively––sometimes tearfully––recognize this father\, mother\, and son as the real thing. Touring over the last almost 20 years as Camille and Stuie\, the husband-and-wife duo became beloved in Australia. Stuie is a monster player with chops that sublimely meld the virtuosity and instinct of jazz with the clear tone and restraint of American hillbilly roots music. Camille holds a once-in-a-generation voice: somehow both crisply expressive and immeasurably rich and smooth\, she can sit back to soothe in a pocket before jumping out to thrill. Now based in Nashville and with the addition of middle son Sonny on stage\, The French Family is acclimating to life stateside––deep roots in tow. “I love being able to share our family music with people\,” says Camille. “I think people crave it. They come up and tell me how much they love seeing the love among our family and what we do––and I love being able to share that with everybody.” \nStuie agrees\, adding\, “We hope our music takes people back to a time when the essence of country music was twangy guitars\, honest songs\, and vocals that tear your heart out.” \nDoors open at 7pm. Show begins at 8pm. All tickets here are first come\, first served at the door. So if you are in the area\, plan to come down and enjoy live music with a pizza and a beer (or two!) \n\nArtist websiteFollow on FacebookFollow on Instagram

SUMMARY:Larry & Joe
DESCRIPTION:Larry & Joe were destined to make music together. \nLarry Bellorín hails from Monagas\, Venezuela and is a legend of Llanera music. Joe Troop is from North Carolina and is a GRAMMY-nominated bluegrass and oldtime musician. Larry was forced into exile and is an asylum seeker in North Carolina. Joe\, after a decade in South America\, got stranded back in his stomping grounds in the pandemic. Larry worked construction to make ends meet. Joe’s acclaimed “latingrass” band Che Apalache was forced into hiatus\, and he shifted into action working with asylum seeking migrants. Then Larry met Joe. \nCurrently based in the Triangle of North Carolina\, both men are versatile multi-instrumentalists and singer-songwriters on a mission to show that music has no borders. As a duo they perform a fusion of Venezuelan and Appalachian folk music on harp\, banjo\, cuatro\, fiddle\, maracas\, guitar\, upright bass\, and whatever else they decide to throw in the van. The program they offer features a distinct blend of their musical inheritances and traditions as well as storytelling about the ways that music and social movements coalesce. \n\nArtist Website

SUMMARY:Buffalo Wabs & The Price Hill Hustle
DESCRIPTION:The Cincinnati-based ensemble Buffalo Wabs (as in ‘mobs’) and the Price Hill Hustle can be best described as ‘American’– from the mountains to Music Row\, blues-gospel to traditional country\, the Hustle combines parts of the American-born genre catalogue to create an energetic experience every single night.    \nThis four-piece moves from fast-paced\, foot-stomping anthems to harmony-laden ballads and traditional dirges of spirit and labor. “The group started around the love of music that moves you\,” says drummer/vocalist and band spokesman\, Casey Campbell. “The music accompanies the story; and sometimes the music is the story by which we can all connect to one another.”    \nWith the release of their third album\, Stranger in the Alps\, due March 15th\, 2019\, the Hustle aims to increase their original music portfolio while paying homage to select tunes that have had lasting impact on the band. “This album explores the first co-writing the band has undertaken\,” says Campbell.  “And through that collaborative process we’re beginning to find more complex voices\, more adventurous tunes that bridge our influences even more than before.”  \nThe new original material featured on Stranger in the Alps is a “cross-section of stylistic influences and voices\,” says Campbell. “Oh\, Ramona!\,” written by Campbell\, hearkens to the Piedmont Blues-era musicians\, with tongue-in-cheek lyrics and a wry humor throughout. “Those old pickers knew how to tell a story; that’s the kind of vibe we’re after.”  \nThe band also pays respects to some of the great influencers of American music on this latest album.  “The covers we’ve chosen mean something to us; these are songs that still speak to us\, and we want folks who may not know them to become familiar.” On the album’s third track\, the band takes a full-steam-ahead approach to the iconic Leadbelly song\, “Stewball\,” an all-out fest that echoes the frantic speeds of a racetrack. “The intensity\, the pace\, it all builds from the first note to the last\,” with help from acclaimed regional musicians Joe Macheret (The Tillers and Joe’s Truckstop) on fiddle and John K. Victor on harmonica. Macheret’s fiddle plays a pivotal role throughout the album; as Campbell notes\, “Having such immensely talented friends is so beneficial when building the sonic landscape of a studio tune.”    \nAs “Stranger in the Alps” is just hitting the market\, the band already has its eyes set on the next project. “The wheels have been put in motion\,” Campbell says\, “and we’re ready to get the next batch out. It’s going to be a busy year.”    \nThe Hustle has worked relentlessly through the Mid-Atlantic region\, playing shows from south Minnesota to Asheville\, North Carolina. As 2019 begins ramping up the band is eager to stretch its legs farther west\, farther south\, and beyond.    \nFrom large theaters to tiny bars\, the show’s the same: heartfelt\, real\, a little loose\, and sincerely fun.  As the Hustle says\, “If it ain’t fun\, it ain’t worth it.”  \nFounded on the West Side of Cincinnati\, the current lineup of the Hustle is starting its third year together. Anchored by the upright\, Bill Baldock brings decades of experience and finesse to the  \ntalent pool\, having been based around Nashville\, TN\, for many years while playing for a litany of revered industry professionals. Primary soloist Scott Risner does the same; now based in Cincinnati\, Risner has also been a staple in the circuit for over thirty years\, playing with such renowned acts as Alison Krauss and JD Crowe and the New South. Founding members Matt Wabnitz and Casey Campbell have been picking out heavy-hearted tunes for a decade together. Campbell\, an Alabama native\, brings a gospel-vocal sense to the arrangements while Wabnitz’ distinct hammering of the strings and raw vocal power sets the tone.    \n“We play music that we connect to\, whether it’s an old find or a new line.  We want it to mean something\, every time.”  \n\nArtist Website

SUMMARY:Kenny Thacker & Friends
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a great night of music with Kenny Thacker & Friends\, featuring Ron Block\, Clay Hess\, Tim Crouch\, Steve Thomas\, Suzanne Cox\, and Buddy Greene! \nKenny was born into a long line of coal miners and musicians in  the “head of a holler” in eastern Kentucky. He started playing guitar on the front porch at 6 years old and was hired into his Uncle Ray’s band “The Slone Family” at the ripe old age of 11. Life changed when they were discovered at a bluegrass festival by the father of the genre\, Bill Monroe. That put the family band on a path that would ultimately end up on the stage of the Grand Ol Opry. \nDuring his growing up years\, Kenny had the pleasure of rubbing shoulders with those considered legends in bluegrass music today. However\, his life took a turn when he encountered Jesus in his late teens. He was divinely detoured from his life plan to be a working musician and recording artist by a call to ministry. Kenny left the music industry\, but never left the music. \n    After years of pastoring and preaching\, some of his old musician friends chastised him for not sharing his God-given musical gifts with the world. Their graceful course correction led to him returning to the studio to record “On the Front Porch”\, as a tribute to his clawhammer banjo playing hero\, his grandpa. Much to his surprise\, the record was warmly received by critics and fans alike\, resulting in unexpected worldwide sales and invitations for live appearances. \n     His latest project\, “Entrusted Tones” is a collection of all original music. It’s a passing on of tones that were imparted to Kenny from his ancestors. As he says\, “This music found its way into my soul years ago. I hope it finds its way into yours. It features a wide variety of his long-time friends such as\, Vince Gill\, Clay Hess\, Ron Block\, Suzanne Cox\, and a host of others. \n     Now\, one of his favorite things is performing at house concerts with up-close and personal interaction with the audience in what he calls\, “An Evening on the Front Porch.” It’s a time of sharing deep mountain music\, humorous stories from his life\, and bits of wisdom he’s collected over the years. \n\nArtist Website

By age 15\, the East Tennessee native was touring with former Flatt & Scruggs fiddle player Benny Sims.  Gigs at Dollywood followed\, with his big break coming in the 1990’s as he joined the legendary J.D. SUMMARY:Jack Schneider
DESCRIPTION:The world of Jack Schneider is one strewn with eccentricity and nostalgia\, where a New York cowboy wanders the streets of East Nashville donning a Stetson Range\, a purist philosophy\, and his beloved 1956 Martin D-28 guitar\, Big Jim.  Jack is\, as some would say\, a Nashville triple threat – guitarist\, songwriter\, and singer\, in addition to producer\, guitar collector\, and analog enthusiast. \nBorn in New York and raised in Georgia\, Jack began making trips to Gruhn Guitars in Nashville when he was in high school\, seeking to quench his insatiable thirst for knowledge of fretted instruments.  Despite attending university in New York\, he spent most school breaks and long weekends in Music City\, working summers at Gruhn’s; it was there that he met and befriended Vince Gill\, among other musical heroes.  With one foot in New York and one in Nashville\, Jack expanded his network as both a session player and an artist in both cities\, gracing the stages of The Bitter End and The Bluebird Cafe with equal character and charm. \nSince graduating from NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music in 2019\, Jack has added significantly to his laundry list of accomplishments: he’s toured with Vince Gill as both guitar tech and player\, produced records for multiple up-and-coming Nashville artists (recorded to tape\, of course)\, released his first single to critical acclaim\, played the Grand Ole Opry\, and delivered a series of “vanishing albums:” full-length records accessible for a week at a time each during the pandemic\, after which they were removed from streaming services and unavailable for physical purchase.  Most recently\, Jack recorded his debut non-vanishing record with the likes of David Rawlings\, Vince Gill\, Stewart Duncan\, and Dennis Crouch.  With a reverence for folk music and an instrumental prowess that captivates audiences everywhere\, Jack Schneider is a sharp answer to the ever-urgent question of modern day artistic authenticity. \n\n\n\nArtist Website
